Stabkirche Hahnenklee

Walking through Goslar town

Podcast Transcription

Moin zusammen,

Marc

Palace Kaiserpfalz in Goslar

Podcast Translation

Hello everyone,

A few weeks ago I drove to Goslar. On the way there, I took a break in Hahnenklee. There is a very special church here. I walked up a small hill and saw the stave church. It is built entirely of wood, has round windows and many ornaments. The church with the three pointed towers looks like something from a Viking village. But it was only built in 1908 – and without nails or screws, just wood. I walked around the church and heard soft sounds. Suddenly the sounds got louder and louder and I heard a wonderful song. It was the chimes of the church.

A few kilometres further on is the town of Goslar. Many people come here when they go on holiday in the Harz Mountains. I walked through the small town and saw many old half-timbered houses. I had a piece of cake in a café on the market square. The beautiful square was full of people and a musician was playing his guitar.

Another highlight in Goslar was the Kaiserpfalz. It is an impressive old building and was an important place for kings in the Middle Ages. There are statues of riders and lions in front of the building. I had a very relaxed and sunny day in Goslar. Walking through the town, I almost felt like I was in the Middle Ages.

Many greetings
Marc
