The river winds its way from France to Germany through towns and vineyards. But what else is there to discover next to good wine?

ich bin gerade an der Mosel. Die Mosel ist ein Fluss. Sie fließt aus Frankreich nach Deutschland in den Rhein. Von der Stadt Trier aus kann man an der Mosel entlang fahren. In Trier war ich vorgestern. Vielleicht schreibe ich über Trier auch noch eine Postkarte. Viele Leute machen an der Mosel eine Fahrradtour. Eine beliebte Strecke führt von Trier bis nach Koblenz. Man kann die schöne Landschaft am Fluss genießen und muss dabei keine Berge hochfahren.
Ich fahre auch an der Mosel entlang. Ich fahre aber mit dem Auto.
Die Straße führt direkt an dem Fluss entlang. Auf beiden Seiten des Flusses sind Weinberge. In dieser Region gibt es über 300 Winzer. Hier ist es oft sonnig und die steilen Hänge geben dem Wein einen besonderen Geschmack.
Ich habe auch schon viele Burgen gesehen. Die Burgen liegen auf den Hügeln zwischen den Weinbergen. Fast jedes Dorf hat hier seine eigene Burg. Die Burg Eltz ist eine der berühmtesten Burgen der Region. Die Dörfer am Fluss sind auch sehr schön. Hier gibt es kleine, alte Fachwerkhäuser und Marktplätze. Im Sommer sind an der Mosel viele Touristen unterwegs.
Ich bin gerade in einer kleinen Stadt mit dem Namen Cochem und sitze in einem Café. Von hier aus kann ich ein Schiff auf der Mosel sehen. Es ist ein typisches Schiff für ein Flusskreuzfahrt. Eine Kreuzfahrt auf der Mosel ist besonders bei Rentnern beliebt. So können sie jeden Tag ein anderes Dorf oder eine Burg besuchen und dabei gemütlich reisen. Mit so viel Wein macht der Urlaub wahrscheinlich viel Spaß. Ich glaube ich werde heute Abend auch zu einer Weinprobe gehen.

P.S.: Von hier kann man gut einen Ausflug in die Eifel machen. Dort gibt es zum Beispiel einen See. Dieser ist ein Vulkankrater und 74 Meter tief. Das Wasser ist deshalb auch im Sommer sehr kalt.

You can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the river and you don’t have to go up any mountains. I also drive along the Mosel. But I go by car.
The road goes right along the river. On both sides of the river are vineyards. There are over 300 winegrowers in this region. It is often sunny here and the steep slopes give the wine a special taste.
I have also seen many castles. The castles are located on the hills between the vineyards. Almost every village here has its own castle. Eltz Castle is one of the most famous castles in the region. The villages along the river are also very beautiful. There are small, old half-timbered houses and marketplaces. In the summer, there are many tourists along the Mosel.
I am just in a small town called Cochem and sit in a café. From here I can see a ship on the Mosel. It is a typical ship for a river cruise. A cruise on the Mosel is especially popular with pensioners. It allows them to visit a different village or castle each day while traveling in comfort. With so much wine, the vacation is probably a lot of fun! I think I will go to a wine tasting tonight too.

P.S.: From here you can make a good trip to the Eifel. There is a lake there for example. This is a volcano crater and 74m deep. The water is therefore very cold even in summer.
