Hohenzollern Castle is a large fortress based in Southern Germany. Home to the former Royal family of Prussia, and is one of biggest tourist sights in the region.

Ich war heute auf der Burg Hohenzollern. Es war ein windiger, aber sonniger Tag. Die Burg Hohenzollern ist eine große Burg in Süddeutschland. Sie liegt auf einem hohen Hügel in einem Wald. Ich habe in der Nähe der Burg geparkt und bin einen steilen Weg zum Burgtor hinaufgegangen. Nachdem ich den Eintritt bezahlt hatte, ging ich weiter in einer Spirale den Weg durch mehrere Burgtore hinauf. Ich konnte mir gut vorstellen, dass Feinde im Mittelalter keine Chance hatten, durch diese Tore in die Burg zu kommen.

Dann stand ich im Innenhof der Burg. Jetzt konnte ich die Burg aus der Nähe sehen. Sie besteht aus vielen alten Gebäuden mit Türmen und mehreren Kirchen und ist sehr beeindruckend. Die Gebäude haben Mauern aus Stein und sehr hohe Türme mit vielen kleinen Fenster. Die Atmosphäre war fast magisch und ich musste an Hogwarts aus Harry Potter denken.

Ich bin zur Burgmauer gegangen. Von hier oben hatte ich einen schönen Blick über das flache Land. Mein Blick reichte bis zu den entferntesten Wäldern und Flüssen. Die Burg Hohenzollern ist die Heimat der ehemaligen königlichen Familie von Preußen. Ich konnte auch einige Räume von Innen sehen. Diese sind prunkvoll ausgestattet mit großen Gemälden, goldenen Verzierungen und antiken Möbeln.

Im Innenhof der Burg gibt es auch ein Café. Dort habe ich eine große Portion Käse-Spätzle gegessen. Es besteht aus Nudeln mit Käse und gebratenen Zwiebeln. Dies ist ein klassisches süddeutsches Gericht. Beim Essen habe ich die Aussicht auf die Landschaft genossen. Ich sah Vögel im Wind fliegen und spürte die Sonne auf meinem Gesicht.

I was at Hohenzollern Castle today. It was a windy but sunny day. Hohenzollern Castle is a large castle in southern Germany. It is situated on a high hill in a forest. I parked near the castle and walked up a steep path to the castle gate. After paying the entrance fee, I continued in a spiral up the path through several castle gates. I could well imagine that enemies in the Middle Ages had no chance of entering the castle through these gates.

Then I stood in the inner courtyard of the castle. Now I could see the castle up close. It consists of many old buildings with towers and several churches and is very impressive. The buildings have stone walls and very high towers with many small windows. The atmosphere was almost magical and I had to think of Hogwarts from Harry Potter.

I went to the castle wall. From up here I had a beautiful view over the flat land. My view reached as far as the most distant forests and rivers. Hohenzollern Castle is the home of the former royal family of Prussia. I was also able to see some of the rooms from the inside. These are splendidly furnished with large paintings, golden decorations and antique furniture.

There is also a café in the courtyard of the castle. There I ate a large portion of ‘Käse-Spätzle’. It consists of noodles with cheese and fried onions. This is a classic southern German dish. While eating, I enjoyed the view of the landscape. I saw birds flying in the wind and felt the sun on my face.
