Hamburg is a large port city in Northern Germany. With two large rivers running through, Hamburg has more bridges than any other city in Europe.

ich freue mich zu hören, dass du deine Fahrkarte gekauft hast. Ich bin gespannt auf deinen Besuch am nächsten Wochenende. Ich treffe dich am Bahnhof. Ich warte um 18 Uhr am Eingang. Dann können wir uns ein Restaurant suchen. Hier in Hamburg haben wir ein paar kulinarische Spezialitäten. Wenn du magst, können wir ein Fischbrötchen, eine Currywurst oder ein Franzbrötchen probieren. Aber vielleicht nicht alles auf einmal!

Ich kann dir am Samstag gerne eine Stadtführung geben. Wir können zum Rathaus und an die Alster gehen. Wir können in das Rathaus auch reingehen. Im Innenhof sind einen Springbrunnen und viele Statuen. Wir können auch in die Speicherstadt gehen. Hier gibt es ein paar Museen und sehr viele Brücken. Hamburg ist die Stadt mit den meisten Brücken in Europa. Wusstest du das?
Die Speicherstadt liegt auf dem Weg zur Elbphilharmonie. Die Elbphilharmonie hat einen Aussichtspunkt. Von dort können wir den ganzen Hafen sehen. Die Elbphilharmonie ist ein großes Konzerthaus. Sie wurde erst vor einigen Jahren gebaut. Der Bau des Konzerthauses hat am Ende zehnmal so viel gekostet wie ursprünglich geplant. Darüber erzähle ich dir am Wochenende mehr.

Abends können wir vielleicht nach St. Pauli zur Reeperbahn gehen. Hier sind viele Bars. Normalerweise sind auf der Reeperbahn auch viele Menschen unterwegs und man kann laute Musik hören.

Bevor du am Sonntag gehst, lass uns in den Park Planten un Blomen gehen. Es ist ein großer Park, mit einem japanischen Garten. Es gibt hier auch ein Gewächshaus mit tropischen Pflanzen und Fischen. Wir können durch den Park gehen, ein Franzbrötchen essen und Kaffee trinken.

I’m glad to hear you bought your ticket. I’m looking forward to your visit next weekend. I meet you at the station. I wait at the entrance at 6pm. Then we can look for a restaurant. Here in Hamburg we have some culinary specialties. If you like, we can try a fish roll, a Currywurst or a Franzbrötchen. But maybe not all at once!

I can give you a tour of the city on Saturday. We can go to the city hall and to the Alster. We can also go inside the city hall. In the courtyard there are a fountain and many statues. We can also go to the Speicherstadt. There are a couple of museums and many bridges. Hamburg is the city with the most bridges in Europe. Did you know that?
The Speicherstadt is on the way to the Elbphilharmonie. The Elbphilharmonie has a lookout point. From there we can see the whole harbour. The Elbphilharmonie is a big concert hall. It was built only a few years ago. The construction of the concert hall ended up costing ten times as much as originally planned. I’ll tell you more about that this weekend.

In the evening, maybe we can go to St. Pauli to the Reeperbahn. There are a lot of bars here. Usually there are also a lot of people on the Reeperbahn and you can hear loud music.

Before you go on Sunday, let’s go to Planten un Blomen park. It’s a big park, with a Japanese garden. There is also a greenhouse here with tropical plants and fish. We can walk through the park, eat a Franzbrötchen and drink coffee.
