Podcast Translation

We arrived in Maquartstein yesterday after a long drive with a stopover in Dresden. In this village our accommodation is located about 10 kilometers from Lake Chiemsee in the German Alps. We stayed in the upper floor of a typical Bavarian country house with a large balcony. The house was made of wood and on the balcony hung a lot of flowers in red, yellow and pink. The house was right on a small mountain and if you walked up the mountain for half an hour you could see Lake Chiemsee. It was very warm and sunny. We had almost 30 degrees.

The next day we went directly up the mountain from the village by cable car. Then we hiked all day. There were cows everywhere, wearing bells and eating grass. Some cows were brown and white, others were black and white. The cows stood in the fields or even on the path. If the cows were on the path, we had to keep walking on the field. We had a beautiful view and took many photos.

To get to the highest point of the mountain we had to climb up a very steep path and hold on to a rope. Of course, we also had to walk all the exhausting way back. We were on the road for almost 6 hours. Fortunately, there are alpine huts everywhere where you can eat, for example, Kaiserschmarrn. Usually there are huge portions to eat in the huts.

It was a very beautiful but also exhausting hike in nature.

Kind regards
Johanna

P.S.: If you also want to do the hike, the summit is called Kampenwand. But you should have a little experience in hiking, because the last part is difficult.
